Hi, peeps.

Looks like Alberto is back in the peloton. Cycling is like this, and falls are part of the game. I hope he recovers from it and that there's nothing more than a few slight burns and bruises.

Watching how nervous they all get, I'm just happy that the Cofidis Kamikaze train isn't here. I can't even imagine the carnage...

Again, for some reason riders aren't forcing Ettix (kittel) to spend the vast majority of the stage at the front, working to keep the break in check. They have the favorite, after all. Why allow a fresh train at the end of the stage?

Did Sagan stop to help Contador remake contact? I certainly hope not.

Now that I mentioned Peter, if there's some confusing with the trains, watch out for him. Not only does he have the best handling skills and looks like he's build from the heaviest material, the guy has been showing some great top speed. He's also motivated and has 0 pressure for today.

Looks like a BMC rider took out Berto

Yeh that's what I'm thinking too. Probably Burghardt took him out.
Looks like Marcus lost the corner and took Alberto with him.

How the hell didn't he get anything broken there? Thank the lord.
Hit the ground from a healthy angle.

I was gone for like 30 min. And then i saw Contador's picture in this forum and it scared the **** out of me
I sorry you've missed. It was an important moment. Hit the tarmac on a roundabout exit, might be the road furniture he caught. Someone's wheel could have been worse. You'll find the video somewhere soon, I'm sure. ES has already showed it again.
pretty good video by letour on twitter, try to find it Miburo

I think it's such a weak break that it doesn't really matter who is chasing them down. The peloton is largely soft pedalling at the moment - and there are so many anxious riders with loads of nervous energy that different teams keep popping to the front.

If Sagan can somehow win this - a 5km straight, dead flat run in - against really fresh Kittel, Greipel, Kristoff and Cav, this would be the most impressive TdF win of his career imo.

Don't think so (thankfully!). The sunglasses are an absolute disaster as well

Agreed, the sunglasses are whacked.

It makes you wonder how POC stays going for the last few years when you never see anyone buy their products...

Of course there is is always bad luck.. cycling is like that.
he has lost the Tour and if he win is becouse he was to win for 5 minutes.

I said always crash afect riders...

The crash was not bad anyway, it is more spectacular than bad, he scraped his shopuder, but he didnt hit it ñroperly.. he coudnt copme back withoput major problems...

I remerber when froome crashed 2 times in le Tour, some people said it was becouse he wanst well... must we say the ame now?

I think he is too nervous and he did maybe some mistake, but it is in part bad luck.

He was lucky anyway to fall over the pavement, aver the flooor he would have hit it, it is a higher fall...

Of course tomorrow he could pay today crash, or maybe no, it looks just a question to heal and maybe no problem to sleep well. But later? he has just an scrap.

But the problem with him is that he has lied sometimes, so it would be difficult to know by his words how is he... maybe he is bad, but he uses to exagerate despite he is a tough and yes, epic rider, mentaly very strong.

It makes you wonder how POC stays going for the last few years when you never see anyone buy their products...

They are quite popular among the crit people/casuals further south and in the NW of the country, as well as Oztralia - boutique apparel to go with the custom kits and stuff. I guess Washington state still holds some dignity. :p

Aren't you watching the race? Didn't you see the fall?

Why are you trying to make your poor assumptions pass as fact? The fall was aggressive. Only now is Eurosport showing info by the Tour's medic that says that Contador doesn't seem to have any fracture.

Despite that, you have no idea of the pain or any other possible issue. Also, I don't know what is your first language and I don't care. If you are writing from mobile or a desktop, there's no excuse for that code that you are writing in there. Write like a freaking human. Most of us don't have english as their first language, so also having to take your mistakes into account is frustrating. Use a spell checker (all modern OSes have them. Or browsers.) like any normal person.

PS: It's 2016 and tour time. Why is this forum useless on mobile?

I didn't see any Sky riders right in front of him, there was one on Toso's wheel and one behind Alberto.

Re: 2016 TdF, Stage 1: Mont-Saint-Michel → Utah Beach (188km

Bertie's fall was no one's fault. If one's to blame, it would be the divider outside of a curb: dangerous. Now, it may "only" be skin abrasions, however, it will take days and several bad nights to recover. And you don't want bad nights. You need rest, all the rest that you can get.

I'm sure he'll be OK - he's had enough experience of handling crashes throughout his career to not let it affect his sleep and recovery too much. I imagine they'll give him some pretty strong pain killers and the only bad thing will be peeling the sheets off the road rash in the morning
