Froome could have outsprinted Sagan if he'd have been a bit more patient. Probably gifting him the stage, Armstrong style.

Ventoux looking like it will probably be shortened tomorrow, energy waste maybe, but time will tell

Honestly, Quintana is today's winner. 11 seconds lost for all that energy used by Froome. But Froome continues to impress.

A shame that someone like Kristoff didn't make it across when the front 4 went. Would have been a decent gap.

Only time will tell if he spent too much energy, but Froome's ride today was pure PANACHE.

It is not like Quintana was softpedaling to the end :D

Well Froome didn't exactly pay a high price for all the work he did on the descent last week.

This puts more pressure on Quintana to attack and drop Froome on a climb which is hardly gonna be easy.

So 11-12 seconds gain including bonus seconds. Not really sure it was worth the energy when Ventoux is tomorrow, but a great race nonetheless.

if Ventoux is cut short by at least 7 KM then Quintana might not be able to gain time. So its a good move by Froome in my opinion.

Great entertainment, but Froome's going to pay for those 10 seconds.

Like he was going to pay for his effort in the descent? I doubt very much Froome would have done that if it meant going into the red. The man rides purely on his SRM, so he's not going to use more energy than he knows he can recover.

I'd join the chorus laughing at the expense of energy for 10 seconds, but then I have no idea how the Froome machine is working under the hood and traditional assumptions regarding energy may well fail to hold
