I think Froome puts 2 minutes on Quintana today, will have over a 2 minute lead at the end of the day, maybe 3.

Tour will be effectively over as a contest after today.

Agree. To bad that Contador crashed since afterall thats the duel everybody wanted and deserved. Now were left to not knowing and a rather boring tour with no challengers. Add to it all the controversials that has accured its not looking very good!

All indications were that it would have been a blowout in Froome's favour, not a duel.

But I know that many Contador fans have great powers of imagination, and so the 2016 Tour will no doubt be second only to the 2014 Tour when it comes to Contador's Greatest Counterfactual Performances.

Agree. To bad that Contador crashed since afterall thats what almost the entire cycle fans wanted to see that duel and which they deserved. Now were left to not know and a tour without excitment duo to no challengers.

I doubt Contador was any good to beat this Froome for two reasons:

1- The Dauphine
2- Oleg staying quiet on Twitter and not saying things like we know Kreuz numbers and he is climbing with the best bla bla bla.

That's real scientific stuff !

I will go with:

Dumoulin for stage

Gc boys:

Froome
Porte +23"
TVG 49"
Mollema 1:02"
Valverde 1:05"
Aru 1:13"
Quintana 1:36"
Bardet 2:40"
Martin 2:46"
Yates 3:13"

Porte is a very small rider, only 5 cm taller than Quintana. Surely the nasty wind will affect him too.

But is he the moral winner?

Yep, Froomes most difficult challenge of his career will become whitewash before final week.

this looks good.

i think martin is likely to lose more and tvg won't be that high.

A good point but necessarily the whole picture ....Contador was focused on the Tour plus his form did look like he would be up there in top 3 esp in TT ...nearer than Quintana in first half of the Tour
But what would have made the difference is the unpredictability of Contador...he would throw the kitchen sink at SKY and make it a race at least

because the others will then start riding for podium and places and will start to do the work for sky. particularly if yates, aru, etc. are in similar time as quintana.

Fair point but in form, which he clearly is, he is a top class time trialler, he is probably the second strongest in the race these first two weeks, going to be interesting to see if he has his regular bad day, I have a feeling he won't.

Some people already said it a couple of years ago: with his riding style, Tony will not last for 5 more years.
