I guess everyone was right, Majka sucks at sprinting...

Between climbers he would probably win, but Pantano contests reduced field sprints regularly and places very well

Majka played that perfectly tactically until about 300m to go; then inexplicably started his sprint too early. You can't go early against a stronger sprinter.

You cant go late either. There was no way he was winning that sprint, he should have gambled and refused to work if he wanted to win

So, another dull high mountain stage from the GC. Poels easily pulling in numerous attacks from Aru, Bardet and Valverde. Froome so comfortable that he can fake attacks and laugh at other riders for trying to distance him on the flat.

The chasers were closing the gap seriously, so he panicked... Pantano was extremely calmed.

Great great ride for Quintana. This guy is simply amazing. Attacking. Attacking. Attacking. Bravo!

He's not gutless, he just doesn't have the power. They sent Valverde on a 'test attack' to see if there were any signs of weakness from Froome or the Sky train, but they looked as strong as ever. Pointless Quintana attacking in that situation; he'd just have ended up losing more time like on Ventoux.

The only one who deserved win today is Alaphilippe.

Of course Pantano or even Majka had deserved then win as well. Just because Alaphillippe crashed and fought hard afterwards doesnt mean he is the only one deserving the victory

Either conservative to the point of outright cowardice, or in remarkably bad form for a rider whose season depends on this race.

for all idiots complaining about lack of GC action : if a domestique is doing 350+ watts at the front you cannot attack from that

just so you know why the tour is boring
