I can't watch coverage all the time, but when I do and they show the front group it's always Martin who pulls. Did you see Alapahillipe take a turn?

Rolf Sørensen is following them on motorbike and said that Tony has told Alaphilippe to just take his wheel.

Why did tony told him not to do anything? I dont get it, tony could maybe ride for another 80 km but what then? Should alaphilippe do the last 60 alone?

saving Julian for later
Like, for tomorrow?
So now Tony is going to do a 120km TT.
I wonder who will get a red bib after the stage. Perhaps it will be Julian who will be in the lead alone between kms 20 to 5 from the finish.

Katusha and Direct Energie at the front of the peloton now.
Good prediction before the stage  ;)
My prediction was almost as good - that a breakaway guy will win and Tinkoff, DDD, Etixx wont do the chase :geek:

chasers look doomed, but the real problem is that the gap to the peloton more or less stabilized for some time around 5:50, now slooowly growing again... I'd say they need 10 min now in order not to be chased back once the peloton speeds up in the last 40k

Martin has lost 30 seconds. Gap down to 5:30.

Froome should initiate a general pee break. Otherwie they are doomed.

This is easy. Someone from Etixx just needs to slash Porte's tire. Due to the LRP mechanical, Froome will be forced to urinate, thus forcing Fabian to neutralize. Bada-bing, bada-boom, break wins.

poor Tony, so much work... and the gap going down rapidly, even too rapidly I'd say, peloton already took back 2 min from the max of 6 they had

What are the roads like in the final 30 - 40 kilometres?
Classics' type of stage needs classics' type of roads.
Couple of hundreds of cobbled meters isn't enough.

then we will get to see Fabian attack while Froome pees, thus setting off firestorm of criticism among the Brailsford-worshippers. That too would be fun. Either way, we get entertainment.
