Apparently, Contador's knee is bleeding. Probably nothing. Possibly meaningful if it's the same knee he screwed in 2014's Tour.

What are Lampre doing, working together as a team for Rui? Who is this team, and what have they done with the real Lampre?

He already lost some skin on his right knee yesterday, which is the same he hurt in 2014. Not sure if it's the same knee that's bleeding now, but of course the wound will open even as a result of a very light blow. His kit seems to be untouched (except for a minor tear in his rain jacket) so doubt it was a hard crash. Definitely not hard enough to cause knee issues.

Half are thinking about Bahrein beaches and half are depressed after yesterday's match.

Every crash is hard enough almost to create knee issues, it very much depends if you fall awkwardly. 'Slow' crashes sometimes are the worst IMO.

Froome thinking he's immune to crashes, taking of his helm

I just saw Majka laughing, so I have hopes that crash was innocent

Majka is imagining his new winking routine to moto bikes as he takes stage wins in the pyerennes

Rennes isn't on the map this year!

Apparently Tony Martin was the first one to fall, near the front, taking a whole lot with him. Not confirmed though. Hope all are ok

Because Dimension Data have been pulling for ages but they rightly decided they have little hope of either winning or keeping the yellow jersey so it's time for someone else to do some work if they want the break to be caught.

I was thinking about this 40km to go when the Sporza commentators were saying that Stuyven shouldnt waste time in a doomed breakaway stage like this. Then I thought who are going to bring them back?

DD know they won't keep yellow, bmc have 2 leaders to protect so nobody to pull for GVA. Tinkoff will not pull for Sagan as well etc.

Maybe etixx? Orica....meh...

@Kwibus

Douglas Ryder said they where gunning for Edvald this stage, so at least Orica and DD will set the pace

Ancient coastline of France named after a nineteenth century gold mining town in Africa?

I'll never question Carlton again if that's factual but it seems doubtful.
