The never ending love affair between Alberto Contador and French Asphalt
Laughed on the inside. Thought laughing out loud was poor form.

I wonder if this might be a byproduct of staying with skinnier tyres when the rest of the peloton is on 25s. Or just trying to manoeuvre around a tight peloton while sore all over.

From the CN live ticker:

Contador stands and waits for a spare bike with the quiet exasperation of a man who has inadvertently upgraded to Windows 10 rather than the urgency of a rider whose Tour de France challenge is on the line. A mechanic duly produces a replacement machine and Contador calmly sets off in pursuit of the peloton.

why isnt contador sitting on sagans wheel? its the safest place in the peloton

More like Sagan's back pocket is the safest place in the peloton. That way it helps him when Sagan avoids a crash by jumping with his bike

It looks like Specialized specs its stock Di2 Tarmac with 24mm tires. No idea why they don't go to 25 (maybe the in-house tires actually sit fatter), and no idea if Tinkoff has a custom setup.

Froome thinking he's immune to crashes, taking of his helm

I just saw Majka laughing, so I have hopes that crash was innocent

Hopefully the bad luck is done by now, and he wont crash anymore this tour, a fair fight is the most fun part!

All the Tinkoff riders seemed pretty relaxed, don't think today's crash was too bad.

It actually may be a blessing, as long as there was no more skin by loosening up his sore and bruised muscles.

Itv saying tony Martin caused the crash
We'll see if he whines about himself tonight, or whine that 21 flat ITT stages would be safer for the riders ;) .
