Riis: "It doesn't make sense that Contador should have fever this morning when he goes on the attack like this."
Why's he so bitter.
There was nothing wrong with him and Contador.

I don't think he's bitter on Contador. Can't see why he should be anyway.

I know there's not much else for him in the race now, but it's a bit sad to see Pinot already scrapping around for KOM at the end of the first week. After such an impressive season so far, it's a shame he couldn't do something in the GC here.

Yeah, seems like an excuse.

But then Riis says a lot of nonsense too, like that Contador would have won yesterday if he hadn't crashed

He said that? LOL. Riis and his crystal ball...

He's not bitter with AC. Not at all, but he has a point.

Why attack when your beat up from crashes and have a fever as well. It's a bit too much. Sure AC has a huge will, but that would be crazy.

They needed a name to replace Cancellara and Contador is certainly that, I don't think winning is all that important as Trek will get plenty of exposure as the camera is always looking for Contador, more exposure means they will sell more bikes

Agree. He has been looking so strong all year, so this is very disappointing. I wonder what went wrong. He said himself that he isn't sick.

IMO a Mistake by Valv. to drop back.Had nothing to loose by letting the break get caught and resetting the race before Port d Cantó

But it's apparently super important that this most exciting of breaks can stay away.

Well Contador wouldn't give that gap to Froome that's for sure. Winning, well that's pure speculation ofcourse.

Hopefully he (Pinot) can bag some points, come out of the Pyrenees with the jersey and come good to race with the GC guys on ventoux

Maybe he messed up his peak by going so well earlier in the season

That could be an explanation. He wasn't very good in Dauphiné either (although in 2014 he wasn't strong in Suisse and finished 3rd in the Tour).

If AC can get to atleast the same level as this year then he's worth lots of $$$$$.
Then when also doesn't crash in the TdF he's worth even more $$$$. Wether he can win it or not, he'll be a factor when purely focused on the TdF.

lol, the last person who's bitter towards Contador is Riis. He's one of his biggest fans. He said yesterday that if Contador didn't crash he would rode away from them all.

I guess he didn't mean it literally, but if Contador was at his usual level, i think that him, quintana and Froome would've dropped the other.
