The question is can Porte get the podium
Can Mollema and Yates hang on

Everything else is sown up

Should be interesting as second, third and fourth look to be tiring more than fifth sixth and seventh with not much time separating all of them.

Podium chase will be interesting. 1.08" between Mollema in 2nd and Porte in 6th. You could make a fairly convincing argument for all of Mollema, Yates and Porte making the podium. Quintana and Bardet - I struggle more.

Top 6 prediction for Paris:
1) Froome
2) Porte
3) Yates
4) Mollema
5) Quintana
6) Bardet
Mollema is struggling. I cannot see him ahead of Bardet head-to-head anyway.

Can people stop comparing Armstrong to Froome! Can Mods stop these references please.
Whether you like SKY or not how can one not appreciate Froome's strength and all round incredible ability

Because apart from the personality differences (although killing a pet rabbit for fun doesn't say anything good about Froome :D ) the similarities between them and their teams is almost scary.

The race is over so talk is naturally going to drift there because there are fewer interesting story lines. That being said, I caught myself thinking that Sky is using the same exact blueprint. Nefarious or not the similarities are there.

I saw a vid posted by Bob Roll a few days ago and he said Porte was going to be on the podium. The flat came at the worst time. I think he gets there. Aru is riding better as well.

1. Froome
2. Porte
3. Aru

Amazing. Froome is everything Armstrong was.

Let's just wait a few years and wait for the actual winner of those last Tours.

THis bo****ks should not be allowed here...why are mods not sending it to the clinic

Froome as I said yesterday is in the form of his life...he is just better than others right now
and he is the best climber in the Tour so why would he not win a MTN TT

What the F*** are Mods doing  If I wanted to listen to comparisons between Froome and Lance I'd go to the clinic. Do your job MODS or let someone else do it...Joke otherwise!!!!!

Froome's dominance, consistency, tactics and strength of team can be compared to Armstrong here. If you don't want to read about it, skip the posts.

There's clearly similarities between Froome and Armstrong, and while we all know what happened with Armstrong, that doesn't make any comparison clinical.

le tour de farce

Is everything a farce when your favourite doesn't win?

It's a good race, its not Froomes fault that Contador took himself out of the race and Nairo doesn't have it. Great race in prospect for the podium over the next few days.

Stop it. He's the best climber, best time trialist and has the best team in the race, so comparisons to Armstrong are obvious. If you're interpreting negative shades of meaning on it then that's on you.
We could use LeMond but he wasn't as good a time-trialist as Hinault in '86 and as good a climber as Delgado in '89 though that last point is debatable. Fignon was only at best in '84, as was Contador in '09. Indurain never climbed as well. So you really have to go back to Hinault for a proper comparison. Therefore, while I'm loathe to discuss HWMNBN, he's probably the only recallable comparison to Froome for anyone under 45.

I think that podium is a real possibility

IF you ignore team sky (well just let then do their stuff at the front) than the race between the others could be good

Both Astana & BMC will need ot chase the breaks imo to get bonus seconds etc

yesterday, any mention of contador was railed against, today any comparison of sky/usps or froome/Armstrong is railed against. how about just skipping or ignoring it if you don't like it? To me I always found Froome more like the chicken anyways, so is that what's on tomorrow's menu? Rabbit versus Chicken?

Not "the same exact blueprint". Sky rotate their climbers, and don't care what Stannard and Rowe do after their job for the day is done.

Wow. I didn't know this and thought you were joking but then I googled "Froome rabbit killer" and read about it. Horrific.

Let's just put the facts right (as far as they are publicly available, I don't know Mr. Froome personally): he was not "killing pet rabbits for fun", he was in his youth feeding baby rabbits to his two pythons .... as far as I know those snakes will only eat prey they strangled themselves - so feeding them with animals which are alive is simply a necessity once you decide owning a python ... it makes a slight difference to just shooting animals for fun or just to make a selfie with the carcass ....

Yates was a bit disappointing today. Anyway with just over a minute between 2nd and 6th we can expect to see attacking racing. Expect Arundel and Astana to go all out.

The battle for podium will be interesting, I hope Aru can make it!
Grats to Froome (2nd TdF win with no competition)

Ok, you're right. Postal was much better at controlling and dominating the race.

Whilst a complete discussion of the rider can indeed only take place in the clinic, I think posters should retain the right to talk about Froome even here in the road racing forum. Up to the moderators, of course.

Comparing Froome and Lance's similarities in all round ability and dominance doesn't have to take place in the clinic
