Anyone know why Tony Martin is performing so poorly is tt these days? His palmarés for 2016 looks fairly bleak when compared with previous years - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Martin_(cyclist)#Palmar.C3.A8s

This course will suit a powerful rider like Dumoulin and he should be a lot fresher than the gc riders after taking it easy in todays stage.

Age catching up,with him possibly. Maybe not as hungry these days.

There seems to be a Contador obsession on this Forum even when he is not taking part. He's history on this Tour and all these will he won't he pointless arguments - totally irrelevant.

You're spot on about the Contador crazies on this forum, every thread/post he gets mentioned despite having no further involvement in this years race. Yes he is/was an exciting rider but his best days are well behind him, all he can hope for now is another Vuelta or Giro win as his tdf winning days are well gone!!

I never understood the point of mountain time trials. I mean it's nice for a guaranteed win if your favorite rider is the strongest, but other then that...
And TBH this is not a true MTT. If they wanted to make it even for GC guys this TT wasn't it.

Contador is usually stronger when he doesn't ride!

He is the strongest non rider in the race
I am sure he has it won at least twice already ...every climb and TT he has won

Contador to attack this stage, drop his rivals, and make it the most exciting edition of the TdF in recorded history!

I reckon Contador will go pretty early on. He'll attack Contador before bridging up to Contador. Then I think Contador will counter-attack Contador and drop Contador, before reaching the Contador group. Once Contador gets to the foot of the final climb he'll go after Contador, catch Contador from the break, and then outsprint Contador to claim a fabulous victory. ¡Vamos Alberto!

Contador. Contador. Contador. Contador. Contador. Contador. Contador. Contador.

Froome
Porte at 17"
Quintana at 35"
Valverde at 44"
Mollema at 52"
Aru at 1'08"
Bardet at 1'10"
Yates at 1'15"

The posters complaining about other posters posting about Contador sure seem to like posting about Contador.

Wish he was here though, boring Tour as always.

Contador 2009 maybe beats this Froome? LOL

The worst version of Contador almost beat the best Froome in an ITT such as this. Some people need to watch some cycling before making an account here.

Actually I've been watching since about 1986 - 30 years. If you can provide a recent example since 2011 in a grand Tour where Contador beat Froome in a TT I am very happy to be proven wrong.

The Contador thread usually starts discussing the 2011 Giro when Froome is beating Contador in the Tour.

A guy who sounds like a combination of Froome, Lance and Porte has surely got this.

But only because CONTADOR is out of the race ;)

Are you sure it's not a Phil Liggett-ism?
We've already had far too many "Richie Froomes" from him this tour!

Tasmanian Devil, you mean ? :)
I must admit it would be funny if he beats Froome tomorrow

Yeah the Tasmanian Tiger is extinct which I don't think LRP is looking for in a nickname :D

I think LRP will either be very good or very bad in this, no middle ground for this guy

Too small gaps I think...

Quintana +10"
Porte +30"
Mollema +45"
Yates +1'10"
Badret 1'15"
Valverde +1'25"
Aru +1'30"

The forecast I'm looking at shows weather deteriorating significantly from 2pm-ish. Maybe one of the early starters, Coppel perhaps, can cause an upset.
