The forecast I'm looking at shows weather deteriorating significantly from 2pm-ish. Maybe one of the early starters, Coppel perhaps, can cause an upset.
Coppel will not even finish in the top 20. He's in awful shape.

4th in the first time trial just 6 days ago doesn't seem "awful".

The posters complaining about other posters posting about Contador sure seem to like posting about Contador.

Wish he was here though, boring Tour as always.

I don't see a problem with that.
As there are posters complaining about the BS that gets posted about him by Contador fans and who like to provide them numbers data and evidence to shake them from their delusional beliefs.

Wish he was in the Tour as well. Would have been much more entertaining for sure.

Anyone know why Tony Martin is performing so poorly is tt these days? His palmarés for 2016 looks fairly bleak when compared with previous years - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Martin_(cyclist)#Palmar.C3.A8s

This course will suit a powerful rider like Dumoulin and he should be a lot fresher than the gc riders after taking it easy in todays stage.

Age catching up,with him possibly. Maybe not as hungry these days.

There seems to be a Contador obsession on this Forum even when he is not taking part. He's history on this Tour and all these will he won't he pointless arguments - totally irrelevant.
Contador is usually stronger when he doesn't ride!
Very good post :D :D :D

Everyone but Contador!!

Make all the jokes you want mate! We all know the truth ;)

When was the last time the last week of a tour was good? Oh yea tour 2011; why was that heh mate? Who made sure andy lost a lot of time at which he was forced to go hard? And who went crazy the next stage?

Contador is the most entertaining rider of this century, together with nibali. Him not being here while there was a chance he was in topshape is a great miss. Make more jokes about it, being in denial is good

36' 47' first time for Bennet. I doubt the principal GC players will be seperated by more than a minute on such a short TT.

Agreed- the gaps will between the GC guide will be between 0-1minute in my view. Someone needs to be on a really bad day to lose more than 1 minute.

His climbing shape is not that bad.

I'll give it a go:
1. Porte
2. Froome +2"
3. Yates +21"
4. Dumoulin +32"
5. Valverde +34"
6. Quintana +48"
7. Mollema +1'02"
8. Kreuziger +1'17'
9. Bardet +1'26"
10. Aru +1'28"

I think there will be 1 or 2 more non-GC guys in the top10 (leaving at least Bardet and Aru around 11-12th place actually) but I can't make my mind up about who can it be. Possibly Izagirre. Maybe Oliveira, Nibali, Kelderman, Thomas but I have a question mark about everyone. It's going to be a surprise and you can't expect a surprise, otherwise it isn't surprise. :surprised:

Will this be the stage that Froome gifts to his top dom? You know, the one in the red jersey. ;)

It's true that if Contador were here in good shape in which he seemed to be we would have seen a lot better TdF, but he isn't there so it's kind of pointless.

A good Quintana would've been a challenger as well, but he's rubbish. Most likely because of the windy stages.

What is the time cut-off on this stage? Bernie Eisel is 5 minutes down at the moment and the winner's time will be a fair bit quicker than the current leader.

Right now the cut-off time would be about 41'23".

What's the wind like? Gougeard is much faster than I would expect to the first and second checks, but slowed to a crawl on the false flat section

Gougeard's time is starting to look half-decent, nobody has come close yet. On the other hand Kittel only lost 2 minutes on him, which is weird.
