Who's gonna pull to catch them?
It's so steep that drafting won't help much. If my math is right if they have a 7:30 lead on the peloton they can do the climb at 1W/kg less and still make it (barely). So is Keisse fresh enough to put out 360W for nearly an hour? That's the question.

I'm just wondering which of the GC riders will be brave enough to attack. If they spend the entire climb looking at one another like two days ago, it's Brandle's to lose.

Great goal from Eder, Italy a bit rubbish I thought

Don't know why anyone would use this as a tuneup for the tour tbh, they just want to train but it seems the organizers want blood

Gap is 5.20 with 9.8k to go, tumbling rapidly

The Tour de Suisse deserves a big status in its own right. It is one of the most prestigious races, not just a tune-up for the Tour. The thing is, even as a race built for itself, with the aim of producing a good show of its own, with thoughts away from July, it is way too backloaded.

Yes I agree, there are obviously a mixture of people here coming off the giro with form and testing themselves for the tour, but I feel they would get a better field if they didn't put 3 super hard mountain stages in the middle. Maybe one hard, another fairly difficult and a hillier stage would entice people more. Especially as it is a bit closer than the Dauphine to the tour and a bit further away from the giro, people will be taking one look at that profile and be turned off, as it's going to take a lot out of the legs.

True. Though I think that in general most guys aiming at the Tour will always prefer the Dauphiné to Suisse regardless of the parcours. Climbs in France are a bit different and the weather here is usually a problem. But you're right - this route does nothing to attract the big guns. Then again, Suisse organisers don't seem to worried with it. I think they prefer a 'weaker' field.

What a borefest. I should've gone to the gym instead.

Quintana should have come to the TdS to grab a prestigious stage race victory against this army of cowards.

Holy ***!
Nice weather.
If you're sitting at home watching, that is. If you're racing; not so much!
