Last year Hirt was kicking Latour's *** at Österreich rundfahrt and look where is he now... Sad for Hirt, good for Latour. But all hope is not lost yet. Hirt needs to leave CCC anyway...

Hirt is 3 years older than Latour

Mathias Frank won't start todays stage.
Barguil, Thomas, Frank and co. who target the Tour will regret their participations at the Tour de Suisse because of the weather. Some of they would fall sick, like Frank.

Great point. All riders should try to get sick now.

if you get sick now, chances you will get sick a few weeks later again are pretty minimal

Frank already fell ill in Luxembourg, where the weather also was pretty terrible.

professional cyclists get sick very quickly because of their topform and 4% bodyfat.

Any rational reason for Eurosport not broadcasting this week race?

It seems British Eurosport have shown some stages live but the next couple of days its just Tennis and Le Mans coverage so only highlights, Sunday afternoon is live again.

The live cycling has been late scheduling because the tennis at Queens and Birmingham has been heavily affected by the rain.

Would like to see Dombrowski get a win after so many sterling but fruitless rides at the Giro (like Atapuma).

I want to see Jarlinson Pantano win just because he's the second Colombian (after Atapuma) that has been deserving a stage win for a while. Hubert Dupont would be nice too but he'll work for Latour I think.

A 15-man group with Grégory Rast (TFS), Philipe Gilbert (BMC), Kristijan Koren (CPT), Pim Ligthart (LTS), Tosh Van der Sande (LTS), Iljo Keisse (EQS), Ariel Maximiliano Richeze (EQS), Kévin Reza (FDJ), Martin Elmiger (IAM), Jasha Sütterlin (MOV), Maciej Patkersi (CCC), Nico Brüngger (ROT), Pietr Weening (ROP), Antwan Tolhoek (ROP), Jordi Simon (VAT) holds a 2:40 gap over the peloton.

No really good climbers in the breakaway.

Yeah that's a very disappointing break for a mountain stage where the break has a great chance.

Weening FTW.

good, pantano is much better and should be designated leader in the tour as well, eventhough he isn't swiss

Mathias deserved to be leader here (and so does at the Tour). He's shown much more GC potential than Pantano.

Indeed a very disappointing break. I don't see any other rider than Weening winning this if they make it. I don't think they will though.
