Anyway, good for him he left Sky! It's crazy an all-round guy this talented was reduced to a mountain domestique there..........

It looks like he's really back to his old self then. It seems like we'll get a few more years of ridiculous results everywhere and then failing in the classics because he doesn't realize he's not that good with either cobbles or 250km.
Anyway, good for him he left Sky! It's crazy an all-round guy this talented was reduced to a mountain domestique there..........

He was even 10th at Green Mountain.
Boasson Hagen at Sky was the greatest waste of talent i can thnk of.

I don't disagree but Simon Gerrans gets a close second.

Definitely best rider we've seen this year, still really early![]()

Punkan said:Well, it's a great start to the season for EBH. Looks better than ever, but will this mean he will challange for the win in RVV and PR? I'm more doubtful about that. He hasn't been top 10 in either of those races - ever (Best performance is 17th in RVV 2013.). That he all of the sudden should be a challenger is a little bit far-fetched. But no one would be happier than me if he would be up there fighting for the win.
Still believe he is most suited for AGR, but Eddy himself doesn't seem to interested in that race.
Even if he doesn't succeed in the classics, I'm positive that he will deliver some great performances this year. The aggressive Eddy of old is the Eddy the fans like. And this year we have seen some signs of the rider we saw in HTC and the first years at Sky, and it's just great.![]()
The problem isn't the distance, it's rather the combination of cobbles+distance, due to his inability to consume gels and energy drinks. Eating those small sandwiches he's eating during races is probably close to impossible towards the end of a hectic, cobbled race, which is why he always runs out of gas.Lexman said:I'm of course surprised about EBH performances nad was thinking about the classics later on.
BUT
the stages he wins are not longer than 150 km, like today 119 km?
Not to compare with RVV, PR etc...
So curious to see how he will ride there...

During the world championships of recent years, and MSR last year, he hasn't had this problem because it's much easier to get time to eat there.
