Old school Gesink on a big gear, instead of the small gear. Small gear Gesink is 5-10th GC placing Gesink. Big gear gesink is stage win material, he also does that in Canada when he's there.

Oh and when he was young he also did that. When he was really good.

Great win by Gesink. He is so great to watch. I could feel the pain, and I was on my couch.
Anyway, clearly Froome was on his limit as well, otherwise he would try to at least gain a few seconds on the final.

What's next?

Where is Chaves? He attacked and then wasn't seen since.

Bala gone too. Yates replaces Chaves as Orica's challenger. I think it's tending towards Froome if the TT guess well. He held Nairo perfectly today. Contador losing a bit of steam again today. He's challenging for the podium atm.

Konig and Talansky went when Froome and Quintana were busy having a trackstand, Chaves went when they had another trackstand after Froome chased down Quintana's attack

Anyway, kudos to Quintana. Not conservative today, gave us a show today on the Aubisque

I hope Froome isn't relying on his ITT. Otherwise today might be a missed opportunity for him.

Do you really think that if he could drop Quintana that he wouldn't do that? Froome would never let an opportunity like that go. He was on the limit as well, obviously.

Good stage. But Quintana never really put the hammer down at any time. He will have to do so pretty soon tho.

Froome didn't need to waste any energy, he'll pick it up in the ITT.

Fantastic stage!
The battle on all fronts from all weapons... Phenomenal!
Hats off to Gesink, the breakaway riders, Orica, GC contenders... To everybody that made this Saturday afternoon entertaining.

What can we hope for tomorrow?

Well, we saw them escape but I was not sure if they were reeled in or not.

Agree, Quintana is no push over in the TT; certainly not when riding for Movistar in Spain. I think he'd do well to take a minute out of him; especially as Quintana has looked the stronger so far this race.

Contador only lost 20 seconds to the so called best climbers of 20 years. Not impressed by them
LOL. They both don't care about anyone else in the race but each other, they treated every other GC contender with disdain today.

Froome is already thinking he will smash Nairo in the ITT, he was talking and gesturing to Nairo quite a few times in that last 2km.

Exactly. Froome has never shyed away from attacking even when in the virtual lead

Things to remember from this stage:
- Gesink winning. Yay!
- Simon Yates applying some basic tactics
- Dani Moreno. LOL
