Yates and Chavez hit the front
I imagine they'll take a bit of time back, but then lose it again on the flatter lower slopes of the last climb.

Yates has just eliminated all posible help from anybody else by accelerating 1k from The top. Not too smart. #LV2016

The gap at the top: 2 minutes 20, Sanchez now pushing downhill which is a problem for the break.

Damn, Orica and Froome without doms now. The break still has doms for the false flat parts.

Problem for the chasers is who's gonna work before the final climb really starts..

froome winning something at the expense of team - lmao, see ya in the clininc, i'm done with cycling.
The difference is in how they use their team. But it seems to me you don't want to see that
Yep. You want to see 7 guys take turns at 412 Watts for the better part of an hour, tune in come July.

This will hardly be a tolerable lapse for Froome.

Oh yeah, this will hurt.

Although it might not be over yet if the gap doesn't go out any more.
Lower 10 kilometres of Formigal will be crucial.

Dont understand Cannondale though. Talansky in not in the front group. Rest of the front group have reasons to work
Their DS explained this on Spanish TV. Formolo could stand to gain a lot from this, Talansky's rivals are behind with him anyway, and Andrew's following wheels comfortably while some of the other GC guys are having a harder time. It's win-win.

Yep, true, but Movistar doesn't seem to be working hard in the front group anymore

I'm worried Berto could lose all this time to Froome on the final climb :p

Gap under 2 minutes now. Could go down fast.

I don't know. Most of the time in situations like this it seems like the gap extends towards the end again.
Who knows, could be five minutes at the finish.

to set this stage and GC up perfectly 45-60 second gap at the bottom of the final climb would be ideal.
