will there be time gaps?

Hopefully. It was proper racing.

Froome was dropped from the front group long after the crash had happened. So that gap should stand and everyone who was obstructed by the crash should get Froome's time. We'll soon see.

lol

froome avoided the crash bu 5 cm , being in the front group

salt is real

whoops! almost!

luckily he didnt crash. lost 5 sec from Quintana-Valverde. but the times should be neutralized

5 sec wouldnt have mattered, important he didnt crash

lol these last 3km had multiple uphill stretches no?

has Alaphilippe won uphill sprints in wt yet? Meersman is good for a couple everyear
Come on. It was as full-on, 180 rider bunch sprint with 1km to go. Not Meersman's bread and butter. Gaviria won on a tougher lead-up at Tirreno, as did Richeze at Suisse and Kittel at the Tour. All are bigger guys. On this finish, I think he's in the mix with Boonen, Lampaert, Alaphillipe and Trentin for the fourth sprint slot. YMMV.

Seriously, what a fodder pack (if we ignore GC). I miss GVA. I miss Fabian. I miss Peter. I miss Tom. I miss Cav, kittel, greipel or any secundary sprinter.

Where da F is modolo? Bouhanni? The other that "won" MSR? Gaviria? Ewan?

Where's Stybar FFS? Terpstra? Where are they?

You're heavily underestimating Meersman. He's better than uphill sprinter than all of his teammates you mentioned. ANd to say this is tougher as the tirreno or tdf stage is wrong. Didn't see Gilbert types attacking there

Lol.
Froome hater spotted.

While I've never hidden my dislike of Froome, this current error of judgement was born out of lazyness and lack of attention on my part rather than hatred. I do most of the time cheer for his rivals, but my dislike of him doesn't come close to hatred. For hatred, one needs to know the other personally. I only know Froome as a cyclist.

Most sprinters will prepare for worlds instead of riding al those altitude meters in Spain.
