In some Giro stage thread back in May I was trying to argue that Landa is not a bad TTist after he went to Sky, but it fell on deaf ears, I think. His Giro TT last year was excellent, and he was among the best of the GC guys. He lost 22 second to Dumoulin, 7 to Nibali, and beat everyone else. I'm not surprised by this.Blanco said:Castro wins in Spain. Landa 2nd, ahead of Herrada, Soler, Izagirre!
Castro might as well win next year on a Pinarello... and wear a decent national champion jerseyValv.Piti said:Landani will win next year on a Canyon!
Edit: Jasha improving even more, only losing by 15 seconds to Tony Martin.

(from movistar's website)Nelson Oliveira, unable to even take the start in Santa Maria da Feira (Portugal) as a change in the start times - not conveniently notified to him - prevented the man from Aveiro to compete for a fourth win in the event.
Maybe he's lost a little bit in the time trials, but it also seems like he's become better in the mountains compared to previous years. He needs to make those adjustments given that the Tour, which will be decided in the mountains, is his main focus. In any case, a really poor performance in the spanish nationals - more than 3 minutes behind Castoviejo is not normal. But strange things often happen at the nationalsValv.Piti said:Izagirre has really regressed as a time trialist after moving to Bahrain... wouldn't be surpised to see Quintana beating him in Dusseldorf.
Simple explanation: bikes. Year in, year out we see riders either improving or declining drastically with just a transfer. Just look at Jumbo or FDJ for that matter.Valv.Piti said:Izagirre has really regressed as a time trialist after moving to Bahrain... wouldn't be surpised to see Quintana beating him in Dusseldorf.
