Uran to slide out of the top 10.

Amazing that for a guy who has been always at the front of the peloton will not finish in the top ten.

Time to start working on his TT again.

When exactly has Quintana improved his tt performances that drastically apart from the 2015 Vuelta? Seriously, did I miss something? Imho he's a far worse tt'er than Rujano used to be based on their physics. If Quintana does an dramatically weak tt and Pinot an incredibly strong one, it might even become a close call all of a sudden. Not very likely of course, but still not as extremely unrealistic as you make it sound pals!

A few years ago, Uran would have been hoping to improve his GC placing on the last day of T-A.

It seems incredible that he won an ITT in the Giro less than three years ago, albeit a hilly one.
Even in 2014 shape, I doubt Uran would be hoping to advance much in the GC as it stands now. All the podium contenders (not counting Nairo) in front of him, barring Pinot, are better time trialists than Uran ever was.

He just needs to get away from Garmin

Since the 2015 Vuelta - a bit of a breakthrough result - he's never finished outside the top 20 in a ITT. He's finished 1st, 2nd, 6th, 6th, 10th, 11th and 20th. With all but one of them coming in WT races. For a guy his size that's pretty impressive, and a clear improvement on his early career.

Some of them were hilly, where you'd expect him to do well, but most were only rolling. And the one he won was on a fllattish (av. speed 51km/h) course at the Route du Sud last year. Obviously not the strongest field, but he beat Chavanel into second place, which is a fairly impressive scalp.

And let's not forget the short ITT in last year's Romandie where he did very well too (and which was won by Pinot).

Van Emden finishes at 11.22. Would have been the second time last year. Cancellara had 11.08.

I don't know if I remember it correctly, but I think the final ITT used to count to points competition in the last years. And comentator on Eurosport mentioned that if sagan finishes up to 3rd place, he will have the red jersey in the bag.

Why dit the RCS change this. We could have quite interesting battle for red today, with Thomas in shooting distance to Sagan. I don't know how Meastri is in ITT, but theoretically, the 2 points would at least make Sagan to give a damn about the ITT.

Uran will definitely finish in the top 10.
Ok. LOL.
You are probably right just because he has to defend against Pozzo, Moreno and Caruso. :)

Any stage victory (the ITT as well, I assume) gives just 12 points in this race. So Thomas is out of range. Maestri does not have a chance of making the top ten. And poor him - Sagan had to outdo himself to win the points classification. And he did so.

Very impressive by Hepburn.

Was that lady blind and deaf? Good reaction from Peter (but you wouldn't expect anything less).

Ok, I havent realised it's only 12 points for the stage win.

11:50 for Caruso. Seems unlikely that Quintana does much worse, barring a major mistake. So that means Dennis needs a 10:45 to have a significant chance..
