I hope it turns out this was GVA/Sagan's own fault. Would be a shame if it was a spectator that ruined the race.
Sagan has no business being so close to the barriers.

And sagan wasn't getting any closer to gilbert anyway.

Sagan? I'd bet the farm the entire start list did it at some/every point in the race that included cobbles.
True, but if it causes you to crash you're the only one to blame.

Phil is never getting caught, but it would be really hilarious if Terpstra's work helped bridge the gap.

Re: 2017 Tour of Flanders / Ronde Van Vlaanderen - April 2,

Go Phil!!!! Returning to his days of Glory. All those wasted years at BMC! He's looking like it's 2011 :)

What a great win this will be for Gilbert. No way Sagan and GVA would have caught him anyway, even if Sagan wouldn't have carelessly brought down the three chaser.

Im not sure Gilbert wouldve won without the crash. GVA lost at least 10 seconds to the crash, and more seconds lost to the absence of Sagan and Naessen from the group

Gilbert would have won no matter what. But if the spectators caused this, they deserve to be spit on.
