Could have happened to anyone. Riding on the side of these roads on such hectic conditions is almost a gamble.

Van Baarle was at 48s at some point and he was behind the Sagan group. So yeah, think it would have been close.

I'm pretty sure he would have won, but as you say it, we can't be 100% sure. I think it's actually sad that there now is a small asterisk besides Gilberts win.

I feared this would happen. Diminishing the most legendary performance I've seen, oh well.

Gilbert will cry, i'm pretty sure of that. If sagan had some power in the tank he could bridge the gap to gilbert after paterberg

Gap is coming diwn fast - Sagan hit the barrier first I reckon, then the jackets got tangled
