Hopefully someone worked out all the times for the climb

Well considering the final time check was right at the foot of the climb the climbing times are calculated simply by: final time - time at final time check = climb time.

Round,
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning

Dumoulin's of my mind...

Some back-of-the-envelope calculations for the fastest riders on the climb. I can't guarantee that there aren't any errors.

Dumoulin 19:58.55
Roglic +17.79
Dennis +29.43
Tratnik +35.87
Kelderman +36.72
Froome +39.33
Oliviera +41.66

Too bad that Dennis crashed.

I think they are way off tbh.

What a performance by Dumoulin! Congratulations. Obviously I'm not surprised by this result but his ride uphill was very impressive - he was better than the rest (30' on Froome) except Roglic. Credit to Primoż - he was flying uphill (it was showed especially at the beginning of the climb). Ex ski jumper has silver in cycling WC - that's something! Froome adds medal to his Tour-Vuelta double and can rest now after great season.

Also Roche, Jungels, EBH just before Froome

Yes, I just realized that those are the times from intermediate 4 to the end, not from intermediate 5.

And to add more to that ski jumper, he swapped bikes before the climb ,the only one among top 5 I believe... :D

Moomoman knocks it out the park!

Shame for Dennis though, I think he'll win the worlds one day.
Would have easily gotten a medal without the crash and one of silver, if we can use his early splits as indications. In fact, as soon as Dennis crashed there was no one really close to Dumoulin's times anymore. Kind of ruined the excitement a bit.

On another note, Froome seems to be good at collecting bronze medals in international TT events

Where are those fans who said dennis would beat tom today? Yes, not even close...
Dennis was only 9 seconds behind Dumoulin and way ahead of everyone else before he crashed. I thought Dumoulin would win, but Dennis was looking very good today until that point.

He jumped from one bike to another very quickly and surely gained some seconds uphill ;)

Great ride by Dumoulin! I was very surprised by Roglic today. Next year's Tour should be good. Imagine if today's podium was the same final podium as next July :D

I think Dennis would have finished 2nd if he had stayed upright. Dumoulin's performance was insane and he looked in total control even saying that he lost his back wheel when cornering on the climb a few times with the wet conditions. It wasn't so much the fact that he won but the winning margin that was surprising. Roglic also showed that he can climb uphill as well as ski down a mountain, his performance up that last climb was unbelievable, even posting the best time of the day in wet conditions over many specialist climbers.
