I think Formolo will try to get in the break on Wednesday, cause the final suits him more.
But the break generally has a lower chance of winning on Wednesday than tomorrow. Tomorrow is one of these days where half the peloton will want to join the break so a gc contender sneaking in the break and really gaining time is a lot more likely tomorrow.

It will be a hard day with temperatures around 12°C and 70-80% of rain. Would be happy if the break takes this, especially an Androni rider, they deserve one stage win here.
I could use some 12 degrees and rain for a change, 26 degrees and no clouds are horrible in this damn apartment.

what's with the length of these stages btw, this is the 3rd or 4th 220km+ stage. It's almost like a combined classics GT.
It's the third and last. Quite short for the longest Giro stage. They are allowed to have two stages longer than 240km (even if the Giro had three in 2009, with the fourth longest being the marathon stage to Monte Petrano [237km, 7h11'54'']).

Jarlinson Pantano should be targeting this. With his climbing ability and a start that is immediately uphill, it should be a formality to get into the break if he wants. Then the reasonably technical finish and the possibility of rain both suit him well.

What would really be fun if there's a big breakaway on the climb, and Chaves joins it last minute
More likely Formolo, no? They wouldn't let Chaves go.
If the break is big enough crazy stuff can happen

Like Froome joining on Kenny's bike to avoid being recognized.

Meintjes? Maybe if someone ties a spare wheel to the back of the lead moto so he thinks there’s a wheel to suck up the road...

LOL yeah no chance he ever takes a pull. I was on another tab yesterday while I heard Kirby coincidentally mention Meintjes' name as someone attacked and for a split second I thought the apocalypse was here and he actually did a bit of racing for once.

Would be nice to see Pantano involved tomorrow.

I like the fact they are avoiding the super short stages the Tour tends to have now. I think a few stages will be won by the break now as teams get fatigued and think more about tactics.Time gaps will open up more allowing riders to escape without danger to the overall. But of course teams that don't have a win so far will be under more pressure to win a stage. With no GC rider for the podium Quickstep can pick and choose their stages.

So this one is likely to come down to how much energy QS and/or Bora put into making it a sprint? Unlucky for them that Mareczko’s team would be more of a burden than a help if they join a chase.
Why would Willier chase for a sprint? Mareczko was DNF on stage 9.

No air conditioner? 12 is just too cold.

:( I prefer it once it gets into the 20's. Of course around here in the summers it's in the mid 30's most of the time and humid. (Can't live with air conditioning here.)
