Last year, Wellens spent several weekstraining on todays climb, up to three times per day, during his altitude camp. On top of that, it's raining. It's only a matter of how many minutes advantage now.

Wellens has ever performed on a 20+ minute climb. I would be really surprised if he battles for the win today.

Alone, against a searing headwind, losing three minutes which is a lot, but considering the circumstances was very impressive

And he was 9th in the Monte Grappa time trial in 2014. The first time I took notice of him.

He won against Laurent Didier ffs.
I'm not saying he doesn't have a chance, but 20+ minute climbs just aren't his "thing". Wellens said that multiple times.

Bunch split in the descent. Henao and Wellens are in the 2nd group.

I think I saw Henao in the first group? I can be wrong.

Doesn't look good for Wellens. Stupid mistake.

I don't get why Wellens isn't trying to make the jump if it's only 15 seconds.

Or why isn't De Gendt going back to help him.

EDIT:
He's making the jump!
