Actually Yates, Nibali and MAL lost around 14 sec to Roglic, MS saved the 2nd groups me thinks.
Horrible to lose Tom for a stupid accident.
18 seconds.

I don't know how Nibali survived the crash. That Ineos rider (Sivakov?) crashed right into him I think.

I guess luck and usual cat like reflexes. Yeah his group was 18 sec behind, but Roglic took a "buco" probably from first 3 riders.

Hmm, it seemed like Roglic didn't really want to go for it. Perhaps he didn't want to take advantage of the situation?

Seemed that way. Plus he thought Ulissi is going to go after Carapaz so he could follow him. Then he got boxed in in the corner. Then he stopped trying.

Roglic was actually terrible lol.

Was he? If his aim is to win the Giro then he did the right thing.
Not really, every second matters and if you can get 10 for free (and a stage win, lets not act like that doesnt mean something) you onbiously try to win.

Btw, Rogla was pretty terrible there. I thought he was the favourite before the stage.
Yeah he didn't do anything all day and then when called upon he fell to the last wheel in the group
It was a pretty good group for that finish but yeah with seconds at stake you'd expect him to be a bit better. Carapaz may well have been underestimated before this Giro

Thought they were more like 30s back?

I saw 15.
Just saw that for Yates, waiting on Nibs confirmation but that would be great (or as great as it can be after that).

He literally crashed right in front of Yates and Nibali, Lopez a bit on the left as well.

There will be more crashes on those super long sprinter stages I'm afraid.

Yeah, at least during this first week. This not the last crash we will see. Later in the race it is usually more relaxed in the peloton I think. Less stress, than during the first week.

Maybe. I don't think he has any time to give away, but in a small sport like cycling I guess being too cutthroat can come back to hurt you too.

I wonder what happened to Yates. He was a good few spots in front of Sivakov's crash right on the wheel of Ackermann but ended up not in the front group.

I thought it looked like he tried to go to the front after Carapaz attacked and then faded. Surely there's no way he wouldn't have tried to get boni seconds if he was strong enough.

Stage 4 finish is very tricky, might force the big guns to stay at the front and maybe some gaps will appear because of it. One tight corner in the last km and another long left hander about 200m from the finish.
Called it lads

Everything will happen as long as you're vague enough.
