On paper it is a good formula. Give pink to a top contender in the first day or two when he doesn't want it, then let a week of non-GC-but-fight-for-pink riders to tear at each other.

That being said, that formula can still be executed with stages routed through more interesting terrain in the first week.

Lefevere just knows the secret winning formula, Astana clearly improved after taking up rap and Bora must've stepped up to some harder training hence Sagan looking tired all the time. And they all want it more than the others.
