Mollema 10", Lutsenko 16", Aru 26" at 1st intermediate. Thomas and Alaphilippe are gonna be faster than De Gendt there for sure.

Anybody had the intermediate on Wout? Could he have beaten DeGendt?
Apparently he was +8 seconds on De Gendt again, according to the latest information

On ARD they said he had surpassed De Gendt already.
Now that IS an answer :)
Yeah, I find that pretty hard to believe, honestly. Sounds like the kind of thing that would get out there, though. I'm going to give TdG the benefit of the doubt - he was killing it out there.

Schachmann finishes under pain and 5s later ARD interviews him
But interestingely enough, he didn't mention shoulder pain but pain in the arm.

The hand seems to big broken. I think the Tour is over for him. I hope he is back on the bike soon.

This is what is on official timing, WvA vs De Gendt
1st checkpoint +5 sec
2nd checkpoint +16 sec
3rd checkpoint +11 sec

So basically, no, because WvA would have had to pull back 11 seconds over 5 kilometers, he wasn't going into first place had he not crashed
The time gaps between WVA and TDG are not worth much in isolation. But I agree with your conclusion

GC guys going well, I expect they will slow down in the final part. Is it a sign that the hilly parts of the course are harder than thought or is it just showing the lack of specialists who really went for it

Hmm yeah no De Gendt isnt winning this :(

Glad Porte is finally showing good form again tho.

And Landa actually doing pretty good, makes that crash even more annoying.
