Quickstep has more domestiques for the flat than for the climbs, that's why they are working now, to be on the safe side later on. No one will bring this back.

This might not be a day for the break after all. I kinda expected this break to get 10+ minutes.

Who's going to pull it back then?
Don't get me wrong, I still think the break will take this. Especially as the best climbers in there have done hardly any work. But just over 4 minutes going into two 1st category climbs isn't a done deal, which I expected it to be at this point.

It's long climbs of a lower gradient today.

Alaphilippe should be able to hack it on these, he might even attack, if the break is within striking distance.

Damn, Nico Roche is fluent in French. Yes, I know he has ridden in French teams, but it's striking how fast he talks and how minimized his accent is.

I seem to remember he grew up in France, from a previous years broadcast
That would be a solid explanation.
His mam is French

Weird. It was already strange that he was trying to attack earlier today knowing that the TT is tomorrow.

Van Aert now favorite for tomorrow?

TDD Sports Director: "Yes... let's bring Cummings to the TdF and leave a legend like Cavendish at home.... "

Yup, its hilarious how *** that decision was. I can sorta understand leaving Cav at home since you prob would have better chances winning with Nizzolo, but picking Cummings, then leaving Cav.....

DNF Rohan Dennis

Wout van Aert #2 tomorrow?

I'd say he's the favorite, but he's already done so much. I don't know how fresh he is compared to Thomas, Martin, Küng, Kwiatkowski, Moscon, Haga, Castroviejo, Asgreen, Politt... I know Lampaert has said not to go all-out for the ITT since he needs to preserve energy.

I think Asgreen has worked much too hard to be in contention for the win.

The Kraghen might surprise though.

First half is puncheur terrain, second half is for the big tempo specialists.
