I want Anna to win and retain her Olympic title in her retirement season. Yeah sorry and all that. Really though, I just hope for an entertaining race, despite the best efforts of the course designers.

I'm awaiting numerous amusing confusions with Phil Liggett calling the Dutch women with V's in their names.

oh yeah, sure, overrepresented in terms of the number of athletes / medal competition ratio I mean, of course.

Wait... so only having a few medals for the total number of participants is a bad thing? Why does that even matter? In cycling, a lot of people start, and only one person wins (+ two others get a medal), that's just how it works...

There's more handball players though.

Yeah... but more of them get medals, and apparently that's important...

Am I seeing it right? 17min advantage?
Screen shows 7min between escape and chase group 1 and 10min from chase group 1 to peleton

The teams by refusing to pace are ensuring that the Dutchies will not have all four riders at the top of the climb.

What is with Rochelle Gilmore today? She's normally excellent but sounds totally disengaged, like she's falling asleep. Maybe missing Jose Been?

Dear Marty, her name is not Anna Keisenhofer. Dani Rowe's mic is not really in sync either.

Why is Anna carrying water bottles, all in for Annemiek / Vos or just normal with these few riders in the race?
