Would be very surprised if anyone will be able to follow Fuglsang in the last 30 km.
I think a problem for Van Aert will be that absolutely f*cking noone will be willing to pull him to a sprint and those kilometres after the final climb look pretty good for attacking. I say if Van Aert gets over the top with the best climbers someone will win solo with a late attack. He's made it clear on Belgian TV that his goal is to win, so he seems to really fancy his chances.
Neither Yates is riding, nor Thomas (only TT).He absolutely is the best bet on this parcours.
I hope Simon Yates is riding this. Also Adam. They're both in nice form and they're punchy riders. Valverde surely be there as well given that his form is on the rise. Alaphilippe will probably follow the leading move only to blow some seconds later.

Funny to see two riders (and only them) in special jerseys going together: Cosnefroy and Pedersen.
RR Carthy Holmes Knox Pidcock Rowe Shaw
TT Dowsett Thomas
What is Thomas' problem? Doesn't he know that the WCRR is rather a prestigious race?
Or did the selector just think those six were the best options?
Thomas never seemed to give a rats ass about the WCRR, neither did Froome really. What is Thomas' problem? Doesn't he know that the WCRR is rather a prestigious race?

That's pretty pathetic. This isn't some C-class race, these are the worlds. You get to ride around a whole year with that jersey, and both Thomas and S. Yates had a decent shot. Germany's team is also puzzling - why didn't they bring Kämna?
Italy's preselection: Nibali, Bagioli, Brambilla, Fabbro, Ulissi, Moscon, Brambilla, Masnada, Formolo, Colbrelli, Conci, Bettiol, Visconti.
Time trial: Ganna, Affini
Perhaps they had Giorgio Brambilla in mindI think selecting clones is against the rules.
