I'm gonna ask a silly question now and take the pi$$ if you like. On these stages where nothing much is happening, would the riders be allowed/able to listen to any music/podcast or whatever to save their brains from getting bored to death, especially if the scenery is pretty same old, same old for miles upon miles? They have earpieces for the team cars but could the DS put the local radio on through their earpieces for a laugh?

with TDF in his mind it is clever actually and for me fresh to see BORA not being stupid as many times before
I just don't get why they didn't send any riders with the break instead. They were just passive destructive.

Maybe the risk of Sagan somehow getting dropped in the last climbs while for example Gaviria surviving and then winning the stage and taking the ciclamino away from Bora is too high for them (even if such scenario isn't very likely to happen).

If Sagan doesn't feel as good as he did on last year's Tortoreto stage, then it might be the right choice not to risk anything, but the team could still have chased the win.

This would also be a great way for the DS to troll his riders. Imagine riding a slow flat stage in Germany and suddenly having a schlager station blasting out of your earpiece.

No Bora riders in the break.

Will they work for Sagan this time after the hilly Canale stage disaster?
Bora don't have the strength to bring back such a strong breakaway. Neither does any other single team TBH. Ineos comes the closest but they of course won't bother. This stage has always had a breakawy win all over it.

As was mentioned in that ytb interview in polish language, both Cesare and Bodnar confirmed that goals for Bora this Giro were:
Stage win - completed
GC podium - chance gone
Ciclamino - TBC

As for bonus stage wins, there are 3 climbers to go for it next two stages.

Goal for today was to DEFEND.
And I would say it was a success.

Cesare was emotional that he would see his child and wife by the road today and even wanted to have time to stop by them.
Bodnar is ready to tow climbers next 2 stages into the breakaway.

As I said today Bora did proper profesional job. They not always did before.

Well I agree with this in principle, but it's still a bit of a downer.

This clean shaven Diego Ulissi is even weirder than the clean shaven Marc Hirschi. I guess at UAE there is no stubble, it's just beard or nothing. :)

Peloton makes me think the Tour of the old Roman empire race designs weren't as inhumane as I thought at the time

Sometimes I wonder what the CN forum expects from an obvious transitional stage. A big break fights for the win whilst the bunch rolls along 10km behind? surely not....

I fully expected this, as you can see from my first posts in this thread.

I think this can somewhat easily be resolved by making the time cut less of a joke and enforcing it.
