Because ASO is in the 20th century and uses fixed wing aircraft, not cheap helicopters

Or maybe the fixed wing aircraft above the clouds cannot pick up the transmissions from the helicopters & motos as the cloud cover is that DENSE. Just sayin.

Yes. I wouldn't put that much blame on TV production.
Happens everywhere.

We all know what bad weather does though, so hard men like De Marchi, Hermans and Serry might actually be better in the end... if it comes down to a breakaway win.

yeah, I guess most remember the day when Daniele Ratto won a mountain stage in the Vuelta...

Fiorelli worked on his climbing over the past year, and said he'd be aiming more for the hilly stages than pure sprints in this Giro. Maybe he can go for a similar surprise if the weather turns out to be really, really bad. But it's probably a bit too much to ask (and he also was dropped yesterday, for whatever reason)

Hopefully somebody in charge with the TV coverage is doing something else than wait for the rain to stop.

ASO never has this issue. Been some bad weather in the mountains in recent years in the tour, and coverage has continued
