What an utter piece of ***. GT cycling is finally dead. I am out. That is it. Congrats to all of you who advocated for this. You won, You have destroyed what we loved. Thank you and goodbye. This is the end. The curtain has fallen.
Ooops. Ok, thanks. That's the 4th weekend
Corsetta-Fedaia-Pordoi- Giau, it's happening!

The blizzard that is caused when mighty Emu Buchmann attacks everyone on Fedaia (FEDAIAAAAA!!!!), channels his inner Coppi, gains minutes and only a few days later becomes the new german cycling darling clattered in pink. It is known.I hear there will be a blizzard in the Dolomites that day.
This side is really more of a Vuelta climb, a train setting a really high pace until 3km to go where there really steep slopes start.Sadly I think the patch team really overnerfed the Zoncolan. I had my sides mixed up. Though Sutrio was the middle one.
Yeah Zoncolan from Sutrio is really "we have Gamoniteiro at home"This side is really more of a Vuelta climb, a train setting a really high pace until 3km to go where there really steep slopes start.

They could ridden through Sutrio to reach Priola and do the climb from that side for the first time.

Yeah, but I kinda understand that they don't always want to use the same side. Still, this time adding the Passo Duron right before it would have made sense, 4.2km at 10.1% and pretty much no flat right after the descent would have made this one a lot harder. On a normal Zoncolan stage you never get a high pace on that climb because you still have the much easier Sella Valcalda before the Zoncolan, but if you use the Sutrio side you could actually add something to the stage.Yeah Zoncolan from Sutrio is really "we have Gamoniteiro at home"
Gamoniteiro has 5km @ 11% in the first half that I don't see in Zoncolan from Sutrio. This is more like the rightfully forgotten Bola del Mundo.Yeah Zoncolan from Sutrio is really "we have Gamoniteiro at home"
Yep, but this version of the Giro contains too many of these climbs/stages to be an optimal route. The route would have better if they substituted the Alpe di Mera stage with the previously rumoured Cuneo- Cuneo stage. And in addtition made the Bagno di Romana stage as tough that was rumoured a couple of weeks ago. It's still a damn good climb.
Agreed! It's just too ridiculously steep. Almost 6 km of 15 % is just too much. Zoncolan is far from being one of the best climbs IMO.I don't like the Zoncolan from the steep side. It turns the race into a survival mode.
How far CN has comeAgreed! It's just too ridiculously steep. Almost 6 km of 15 % is just too much. Zoncolan is far from being one of the best climbs IMO.
How far CN has come
Surely it's better than the Sutrio side where the chances of waiting for the final 2/3km is too damn high.
