Occasional pictures how many helpers Almeida or Carapaz have left can't hurt.

We are getting them? Like what major action have we missed? We saw when the leadership team changed and we've seen when anyone vaguely notable has been tailed off. There's nothing else happening though.

Meanwhile there's actually quite a lot of action in the break

And satelite Formolo is going to die the minute he is back with Almeida :joycat:
Formolo can ride hard all day long, but in a pure w/kg fight even a fresh Formolo is probably not good enough to be up there.
Am I the only one who thinks that Carthy wasted a lot of energy by closing that gap with a violent acceleration when he was already almost there?

Wait, is Ciccone actually riding smart and pacing himself well? Now that would be a huge surprise!
edit: Nah, probably just Italian GPS...

It's still only a one minute gap that you can close on the later climbs. But I guess that Martin, Yates and Keldermann will lose more time on the descend and flat.

Yeah that's not exactly a group of descending royalty

Astana are still closing the gap a bit, but they obviously dont want to kill their team too early. I don't know how reliable the GPS time is though.

But now they're trying harder. Imagine the possible carnage if Scarponi had been in that break.
