Are people forgetting how awful the 2017 Giro was? There wasn't a single stage with GC action before the final climb. This year's Torino stage alone puts this year ahead.

This shows how you need both a good route and willing riders to make a good race. After all this was the perfect stage for a long range attack, and there were even a couple of great candidates for it (looking at you Landa), yet nothing's happening.

Looking at all this new tarmac on the road, maybe the riders are happy having nice smooth sensations through their asses for a change, and don't want to get out of the saddle to attack.

This one hardly even have actions on final climbs. Torino stage feels so out of place now, it's like a weird spinoff of a bad series
