I think only Evenepoel or Van Aert could have beaten Sobrero today and even them I have my doubts

Roglic would get here in pink, meaning he'd be more fatigued and less inclined to stomp the descent.

He did get 10th in 2019 when he was in shambles form, but then that TT was won by a complete nobody in Haga, and Sobrero may actually be one of the best riders for this specific ITT.

I'm still very sad for Billy (some people like to punch when you're down), but kudos to Hindley he has won deservedly.hopefully he will be at the Vuelta I guess, I want to see more of him.

Sobrero is only 63kg and last year he did 7 w/kg for nearly 10min on that murito finish in the Tour of Slovenia. He should be a lot better in hilly one day races and stage races with an itt and medium mountains/hilly terrain.

If Bex are smart they send him to 1 or 2 stage races to ride for the gc after coming out of the Giro with this kind of legs.

Maybe not the Dauphine or Suisse, but Slovenia and another one should be fine.

I agree. Toricelle is like a 9minute climb which should be much longer than ideal for a guy like MvdP and other puncheurs. Also it's a climb in ITT position which is where a guy like Sobrero will have a huge advantage.

Does Sobrero have endurance issues that he does much higher watts in ITTs than in road stages generally?

BEX signed Sobrero to try one week stage races, although it hasn't gone to plan as evidenced by Romandie - Anyway, Sobrero is riding Slovenia.

The Dutch/Belgian Eurosport guys had no idea two days ago who possibly could beat Mathieu in the TT on this route. They were thinking up names, but they all would end up short or were out of the race. Just taking a look at the TT ranking of PCS or other databases could have given them some ideas. Kelderman could come close as well.

He was really sick in the last week, I've never seen him looking so bad...

Doesn't make you think it was a patriotic drive?
