Etna's really good for the race. As any early MTF is.
I assume RCS may start thinking about its overuse, though.
Enjoy while features.

Leemreize a bit of a dark horse here ? He's had a low-key season so far but last year's Tour de l'Avenir is shaping up well

Odds of this Giro turning into an Ineos procession? If Yates is actually done and Almeida's underwhelming start is a sign of things to come, we're going to need a lot of Landismo and voodoo...

Well, that, or this break containing the next Chiappucci.

Lol, this is probably the most prematurely pessimistic take I've seen on this site. Which really says a lot.

Martin going to Etna to prep, climbing it 20 times, and never once climbing the side you're going to race really puts into perspective French team culture and race prep lol
Funniest thing ever was when the "cultural expert" on Rai once talked about his book. The other commentators asked him what he thinks about it and he just said "he should stick to cycling".:D

lol.. yeh amazing indeed.
Terpstra said that when he joined Direct Energies they still used limonade during races.... Terpstra didn't perform well due to many reasons at the team, but he did bring a lot of knowledge to the team. It's just strange that a rider needs to bring it....

Translation clarification that apparently Martin has done the climb haha.

I maintain the fact it was believable that he hadn't also stands testament to french team culture and approach :p

I drink limonade during most of my rides. Can't see why it'd be inferior to fancy sport drinks. It's healthier for sure

Every philosophy quote I've heard from him has been vague and underwhelming

According to Mark Renshaw Cav says he needs to push 360-380 watts to make the time cut on mountain stages these days.

Not sure that's an indication here. There are more dark horses in this group. Vansevenant is the same age but finished 6th in Avenir 2 years before Leemreize finished 4th. Same year Moniquet crashed in the last stage while he had been in the top 10 for most of the week.
