Odds of this Giro turning into an Ineos procession? If Yates is actually done and Almeida's underwhelming start is a sign of things to come, we're going to need a lot of Landismo and voodoo...

Well, that, or this break containing the next Chiappucci.

I see no reason to believe Yates is in any real sort of trouble. Took a bang on the knee and got some magic spray on it but it didn't look like there was major swelling or cuts or anything. Maybe it's a bit sore tomorrow but there's plenty of recovery time after today before he might get tested again.

If he can survive today in the group of favourites, and there is no lingering pain he can still win the giro

Congrat Kamna for your first GT victory !
Guys why do you have so many time in your life to totally overreact to such stuff. And second: Why Kämna and not Mauri or Lopez? When it comes to high mountain climbing they are maybe better than this iteration of Kämna.

From the break I also wouldn't underestimate Conti and Taramäe. Both know how to manage a break.

Sad to see Yates banged up und Lopez gone. But theres always crashes and contenders leaving early.

Juan Pedro Lopez and Mauri Vansevenant the two best riders in the break IMHO.

Really hope that Yates has no problem.
Giving JP Lopez a huge leash would be a mistake. Nobody really knows how good he could be. He looked increasingly strong during the Vuelta last year. He isn’t a GT winner, but he would be tough to get rid of.
