Just watched it again. Answering a question of "Surely you're not saying you won't sprint tomorrow" or something like that, he said, "Yeah, not sprinting". Went on about supporting Roglič and how the team says he's really good at that. "Bigger fist to fry". Seemed very clear about it.

there's also a strong tailwind for the final 500m, so not much chance to make up ground

Pais Vasco always has the best racing. I don't like foreign starts but it should be good.

Looks like Sunday will be better stage for potential wind than today. Today is just about avoiding crashes , course is a bit twisty. Hopefully nice and relaxed
