Honestly a complete *** show.
It's not snowing, it's not windy, it's not even particularly dangerous apart from a technical descent from Croix du Coeur. If simple light rain is already enough to throw everything into the drain you might as well never have high mountain stages in the first place.
With the already shortened Gran San Bernardo the stage doesn't even have more than 4500m of altitude, so it isn't even that outrageous. And to top things off all these discussions could've been held days if not weeks before.

Pathetic all around. Riders and RCS, clueless, spineless and without any idea of what this does to their sport. Hopefully stuff like this means a lot less interest in the race and the sport in general and they make significantly less money, because Im not paying or watching this absolutely shitshow.

Honestly, I think that it wouldn't change that much. Today the conditions are quite good compared to last week and the start of the week, but as you pointed out before, the riders are clearly using an excuse to make the stage easier and they probably would have done the same even if the Giro was raced in June.

We have seen this way too often in this joke of a race and to me, that kills all the excitement about the race. Coupled that with DNS, DNFs etc. all over the place due to COVID and crashes, and I couldn't give a rats ass about who's winning this Giro and I can't be bothered to watch today's stage even if I don't know the exact details of the shortening of the stage.

Ill scrap this race of my memory and treat it as the Tour organization does with 99-05: No winner.
