Nibali is giving the analysis of the stage and of the GC competition in RAI.:sunglasses: He had Roglic as favourite but rogla left him "perplexed" at Bondone. Thomas is "mentally solid" and "can manage long efforts without references".

I hate it when commentators do that, it's so unprofessional. Although I actually don't mind Carlton Kirby, he's does my head in when he calls Geraint Thomas G.
Your not his mate, your a professional commontator and casuals will have no idea who they are talking about..
It's much worse with the italian ES commentators. They just make up random nicknames and keep calling riders that way.
It's terrible.

Jumbo awful. You have a full squad for what, doing nothing?
Primož won't need 7 teammates on Tre Cime. He'll need Kuss and that's it. He won't need them tomorrow in the ITT. The time to use them is now. Use two of them just to keep the break in range. Try to go for a stage win today. If Roglič loses the Giro, he goes home empty handed, the team goes home empty handed.

The time to react is now!
They don't trust Rogla is gonna get the ob done. They don't want to hurt him like they did on Bondone...

The problem is that an easy stage before a sprint up Tre Cime appears to be most preferable for Roglic - he was struggling on Bondone after a long hard stage the other day. UAE would be better off with a hard pace all day, but I fear their confidence is shot after yesterday. Ineos are never going to pace with Thomas in pink, so I’m expecting nothing until the final ramps of Tre Cime today 🙃

they likely know something that you don't....like he isn't at his best. Or they have a plan you don't see right now.

Isn't their goal to win the Giro? They need to trust him now no matter what. It's two stages left and he is on striking distance. The only scenario when this makes sense is if they are afraid he'll lose time today, so their only goal is not to lose time to Thomas and Almeida and put all their eggs in tomorrow's MTT. But why they tried so hard to get in a break at the beginning then? It's a dangerous gamethey are playing. There is room to get more creative today with the team and they should at least try.

Especially since there's another guy in the race whose name is genuinely Gee

I hope and believe they have a plan. I'm just a bit annoyed we probably won't see GC contenders contending for a stage win again. Although is still far from a done deal for the break.

Gee will almost get a 1000 UCI points out of this Giro if this break finishes today. More than a monument win, almost as much as the Giro GC win, the same as 2nd place in the Tour, ...

I dont really know much about UCI points, but am aware of alot of critisicm about them, but if a guy like Gee gets rewarded handsomely for his way of racing im all for it
