Yeah I always have to laugh when I see these horrendous routes which are backloaded with absolutely brutal stages. Everyone is scared to lose energy early in the grand tour. And on the brutal days everyone is afraid to actually go all out. When will people learn.

Wow that was a truly epic castle location. Not to mention that church. Bummer neither building had any windows to catch those views.

It’s still hard to design a not backloaded Giro without leaving the big mountain passes out completely.
No, it isn´t. Certainly not when you finish in Rome. Alps/Dolomites in stages 14-16, some transition and towards the end some Apennine stages.

What an awful stage. And I thought yesterday was bad, but it was awesome compared to today. It seems everyone is already satisfied with their GC place and no one wants to win the Giro.

You would think on day 2 after multiple crashes you would want to test remco. You really would. Especially given his currect GC position and an upcoming TT in which you expect an even greater assault on your gc chances.

You would think so. Maybe they struck a deal with Remco not to attack him when he's down.
