The Grandfondo means either Rolle or Manghen. Maybe also Cima Campo as penultimate climb?

Val Malene means at least the latter half of this side of Brocon:

If coming from Rolle, it'd be really bad. The article mentions San Pellegrino, and if so I doubt we'd see Manghen, which would allow for a great stage: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44630991

The article only says San Pellegrino so they could do San Pellegrino - Manghen. Starting with Sella-Pordoi or Gardena-Campolongo that is 180kms. First one is probably too hard but second option seems still reasonable.

If coming from Rolle they could do the other side of Bracon and descent towards Pieve Tesino before riding p via Val Malene.

The article doesn't mention Manghen?!

If they come from Rolle, I'd expect Cima Campo before Brocon.

From the cicloweb forum, but this seems a very logical route in my opinion. I give it more change than going by Manghen or twice Bracon (the third option)

I took both graphs from the discussion from the cicloweb forum

75 km of ITT is a rather proper amount.

Not sure if there is enough mountains to balance it.

And/or if there will be a start list with both quality ITT riders and more pure and attacking climbers among the GC contenders.

Remco to the giro with this amount of ITT?
Another time? He will be 24 in January. It's about time with his first participation in the Tour.

But it would certainly be interesting. As long as he is the only one of the "big four" participating, he would bag several minutes in the ITTs to most of the other GC contenders. Any of Yates, Yates, Mas, Hindley, Carapaz, Landa, Gall, etc. participating would have to attack like crazy in the mountains to catch him.

Nobody said he couldn't do the tour afterward.

Merckx did both for the first time at 24, after doing the giro in 67 and 68

That would probably be very suboptimal.

But if he somehow stays with the "merged team", he could have unquestioned leadership at the giro and then go to the TDF with no pressure. If he performs, great. Otherwise, he helps Vingegaard and has a valid reason of having won the giro before doing the tour

With all the big boys going to the Tour, he would actually have a pretty good chance of winning. Then he could go to the Tour to stage hunt, as there is no way he's beating peak Pog or Jonus on GC.

Also, next year means olympics. I say GC at the Giro and TT at olympics seems like a good program for Remco
