Effectively, Sd Worx have to ride at the front and control the stage. Then hope for the best.

And we know that is their forte...

The GC gaps are still fairly big, so both SDW and Trek can allow a lot of riders to go up the road without having to go into panic mode. Even if a break survives, Kopecky still has a chance of gapping Longo Borghini in a sprint, though it might not be easy based on the first 7 stages.

No reason for these teams to chase Brown here, but too many breakaway attempts get closed down due to other teams being scared of missing out.

Teams such as FDJ or Jayco who have multiple riders in the peleton should have been in the late break. I am convinced that many riders or DS's can not read a race. Once SD Worx had only NFB to support Kopecky its a tough job to bring back a break.

Kopecky rode the last 5kms with no tactical acumen. Who cares if riders go up the road. She should never have been at the front of the peleton in the last 5kms. You wait until the last 200 metres. Then again a number of teams adopted poor tactics in the final 30kms.

Watched yesterday's stage and today's, and what exciting racing, basically the GC wasn't decided until the last km. Great win for Longho Borgini in the end, but Kopecky was so strong, I thought without Vollering they would have no chance, but not so.
