I don't really know why ELB closed that herself. Letting them get away wouldn't have been that bad.

But now Bradbury has a bigger gap, and no one reacts.

ELB is trying, but she can't get rid of LotteLadiesTour (yet). If Bradbury might not win the stage, but it looks like she will take the white jersey as well as the last podium spot away from Niedermaier (they may have known she was starting to suffer, of course).

ELB could gamble and try to get Lotte to do the work, but then Rooijakkers will probably do it instead.

They are pretty evenly matched, it seems. We'll see what happens tomorrow, but if ELB had attempted to let Bradbury gain another minute, it could have potentially have become an even more exciting finale.

So Trek needs to establish a break for tomorrow, so that Kopecky won't win any bonus seconds and SD Worx needs to do the work to bring the break back and give Kopecky the chance to win the Giro.

A rider that was labelled as a good sprinter and classics rider.

Exactly :) though i felt I was stretching it too much to go that far with the comparison before the stage in case she didn't hulk the climb, as we'd no real benchmark for them on a stage like this

Typical though isn't it SDworx might well have 4d chessed themselves out of a Giro win by going all oh we're not here for the GC. Because you'd think Trek have got to chuck everything at tomorrow or else look incredible daft

Kopecky will win tomorrow presumably? SD Worx should be able to control it and the climb is too far out for any attacks

Probably beacuse for me Trek have to attack the stage unleash Lizzie or Lucinda let them try to create or get in a break, maybe even let Gaia go, SD worx don't have the numbers to counter everything, and Guarischi only just made the time cut for this stage.

But they won't they'll shadow Kopecky and she'll drop ELB near the end to either gain the second (which she'd already have if the commissaires had eyes) or win via bonus secs.

Trek should absolutely let Gaia go, do their best all day to let breaks go. Teams like Movistar and Laboral Kutxa are their friends of convenience, stage 6 repeat with people like Lippert and Santestebán who are good climbers not involved in GC wanting to escape, who they'll obviously let go and make SD Worx chase. SD should be strong enough to counter it but the more they let go to take bonus seconds out of it the better for Trek of course.
