That was a strange stage without managing to generate any excitement at all. Why was Movistar riding so for long after that secondary break went up the road?

Give me another Consonni win please!

Or is it a harder stage than I think? Normally a sprint I guess.

This is what happens when Balsamo withdraws, there is no Kool and Jayco refuses to bring their two best sprinters. In saying that, it was an awesome leadout by Guarischi. Will add that the Giro is not the same without Voss.

Although Guarischi might want to learn to get more out of the way when her work is done :)

Lotte looked very strong though, almost like she was having to hold back before the final sprint.

Looks like they've given them all the same time though so ELB might hang onto the pink jersey just

It's not often that one race manages to win a stage in a completely different race.

Just saw the sprint. It was over after that corner. Perfectly timed leadout with way more speed from the outside.

Guess there will be a lot more sprinters/riders DNS with 2 hard stages.

Nice-looking competitive break here - all pretty strong climbers who aren't in the immediate GC mix, with Santestebán, Lippert, Edwards and Magnaldi. Magnaldi is only 5 minutes down, so they aren't going to be given a huge amount of rope, but while Lippert and Santestebán have not been great here, if they managed to ride themselves into form they could be a threat. I think the gap isn't big enough as of yet, but they are riders who could, in form, stay away.

After what we've seen so far in the race, Trek will probably be happy to see the break survive, so Kopecky can't take time bonusses at the finish. FDJ are working now. If Cille is feeling good, she could take time on Labous on a finish like this.

Lippert does it!

I wasn't sure when it looked like Edwards had something left, but it wasn't that close.

ELB won the sprint behind. Kopecky didn't look great there.

They got close in the end.
Lippert takes it. Strong sprint.

I always get surprised these big gaps can be going down fast in the woman peloton.

What happened to NFB in the last KM?
Last pictures showed her in the main group but then at the finish line she wasn't.

I don't know. She might have had a mechanical, or she emptied herself in the attack earlier, but it didn't really look like that at the time.
