So, 39 teams in the end doing battle:

I did the same, I wonder if we picked the same team
The likelihood of anyone ever picking exactly the same team as RhD is very low...

I do look to see if teams have the same popularity score, and check total spend (and that they have no unique picks) to stay alert for identical teams. It has happened twice, IIRC, but not this time. I'm not sure whether I'll get a team similarity table done this time.

And here are those 39 teams

Interesting teams. I thought I was bold going for Yates at 1122 as my most expensive rider. I tried looking at teams with some more expensive ones but I always felt that when I had to find the last couple riders that all I could afford were duds that I had no confidence in.

Simon Yates is a bit of a gamble given his year so far but from interviews he is targeting the overall podium so there is nothing wrong with his confidence which is why I ended up going with him. It might turn out to be a good differential if he lives up to his own expectations. Otherwise his price did allow for a fairly well rounded team.

A bit surprised more people didn't go for Oscar Onley who looked really good in Tour de Suisse to me. So at the price I thought he was well worth it.

Looks like right now that the 11 teams that avoided Cavendish made the correct choice.

This time the Collective Wisdom team doesn't need any averaging out of riders of the same popularity, or omitting some for reasons of budget: the top eight have a total cost of 3857.

That Pog vs the World is my concession to Pogacar being overbudget: I have matched him up with the 7 cheapest riders, just to see what might have been possible if the budget were 4417. Those 7 have a fair few picks, but I would guess mainly to allow for the more expensive riders rather than out of belief in what they might acheive.

Has Hindley been hiding his form all year for the Tour or? I have a feeling based on earlier this year that he will be sacrificed before Vlasov is most of the time.
GT Hindley >> GT Vlasov

Also, Hindley was great in Tirreno and has said he's aiming to time his peak a little later than last year (when he felt he was too good in Dauphiné already and then ended up fading in the Tour).

Fair enough. I haven't followed the sport the last few years much so haven't really seen them in GTs but mostly the week long stage races this year where Vlasov has been much better.

No-one else scored yet, although the Pogacar vs the world group has 25
Yellow Points
I fear that if I use anything more yellow than this, it won't be legible on a white background
This includes stage points, bonuses for being in the GC lead, and points for GC and the points and climbing classifications as though this were the end of the race.

I'll only post riders that have been selected in this, and only those above a threshhold to avoid posting too many.

Main investments
While we all love the idea of finding a bargain, we know that it is how our most expensive picks perform that will make the biggest difference to our performances, so who is pursuing a similar tactic? The most expensive two riders for each team, ordered by cost of those riders
