If they hadn't already decided before yesterday, he was definitely their only GC rider ahead of this stage.

Already yesterday when both Gee and Riccitello were at the back of the group together after Durone, it seemed that Gee told him to go for his own result as he wasn't good.

He should be fine with Stork being 11th in GC so he's probably strong enough to pace the lower slopes of the last climbs then it's one v one except for the Decathlon guys who maybe don't have it. Also 3 and 5 are descent finishes so i wouldn't bet on Gall. Stage 4 could be the hardest to control.

Maybe Storer GC is on for good. The 10th place last year at the Giro was quite underwhelming...The field isn't that deep je could challenge for a Top5.

Storer has put an hand on the trophy, now he need to hold on. 40 sec is a pretty big advantage for this race, but maybe AG2R can use their number advantage, Seixas seems really strong

It has never been an issue before, of course they have had a plane the other years.

On an italian forum some people were discussing this things and it seems to me that, at least this year, they are only using 4G. Apparently, there is around a factor 10 in cost between using 4G and an aircraft (or helicopter) to relay the signal.

7.8 km at 8% unclassified
4.7 km at 8.8% unclassified
and a bunch of little ramps at 10% unclassified.

Nice raceaction at the back part today, which Storer took advantage of. Plenty of opportunities to take time over the next few stages if somebody has ambitions over and above the placement games.
