I find it pretty amusing that Vanmarcke missed a dangerous move and has to work a lot to catch them. He may be often one of the strongest riders of the day but his tactics aren't the best.

Thats why he wont win a monument for me.

Domestiques dont have to calculate with saving some energy for the finish though, they can leave it all on the road.

The leaders have to save energy across 40km. 3 BMC guys could just go harder for less kms to bring the gap back

Yeh defiantly. Seems a really nice guy and he was starved at Sky as there focus is on the GT's although Thomas is doing well here

Stybar could be a match for Sagan in a sprint these days, but surely Thomas will outfox them If they stay away that is.
