You have to wonder what her career could have been if we had this calendar fifteen years ago when she won in Stuttgart. There would have been far less pressure to diet down and become a GC rider for the Giro if we had a proper Classics season, and without that you'd have had no diet supplements ban, no crash in the mountains and facial reconstruction surgery, no need to relearn her strengths and weaknesses and make her way back from smaller teams.
